Empirical Staught is roasty, toasty and sweet. This is a robust stout ale that is just plain huge. To Steffan's ear, when his son Skyler sez it, it soundz like hyawj. u hearin' wut im layin' down?
Okay, so what's up with the name? Webster's defines Empirical as "verifiable through observation and experience." Truth. Brother Jim sez: "You gotta taste it to believe it!" Hmmm, Dad used to say that the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Doubtless. Yeah, but "staught"? Where's that come from? Steffan would like to think that if the scottish poet Rabbie Burns were alive to write about this beverage then he would have coined the unique spelling of the word "stout". Alas, he is dead, so Steffan had to do it, in his stead.
If that isn't wierd enough, try a scoop of vanilla icecream on top of your Emprirical Staught. A stout float? Why not?
